Jennifer Wilhelm-Zeuschel
Pickleball Professional
Director of Kickstart Program, FRC
Director of Racquet Sports, Greenbriar Hills Country Club

Jennifer grew up in a St. Louis tennis family: her mother, Virginia Wilhelm, served as a USTA Sectional Adult League Coordinator, while her father, Terry Wilhelm, worked as a teaching pro at a number of private clubs and municipality programs throughout St. Louis, with both parents having earned their US Professional Tennis Association (“USPTA”) certifications. Jennifer’s tennis education began early: while her Dad taught students, Jennifer gained his knowledge, as she was frequently playing on a court next to him. By the age of ten, Jennifer was a nationally-ranked USTA junior, and would later become a four-time Missouri state tennis champion at Lindbergh High School.

Before graduating from Lindbergh, Jennifer had already decided to follow in the footsteps of her parents and teach tennis. She began by pursuing her USPTA certification, becoming the youngest teacher in the US to earn the accreditation. Feeling that it was important to see how tennis was taught outside her region, Jennifer moved to Southern California, spending three winters in Palm Springs as a member of the tennis teaching staff at The Springs Country Club of Rancho Mirage. In the Palm Springs offseason, Jennifer returned to St. Louis each summer to teach tennis at various public and private facilities, including the City of Kirkwood, the City of Webster, The Country Club of St. Albans, and Creve Coeur Racquet Club.

Having acquired extensive tennis skills and education in her California and St. Louis teaching experiences, Jennifer decided to return permanently to St. Louis in 1993 and joined the FRC teaching staff. Jennifer ran FRC’s junior development program for 20 years until introducing the Kickstart program in 2013.  Kickstart, which has remained an immensely popular program since inception, provides beginning or returning students a technical foundation upon which to commence entry-level match play, while simultaneously building a pathway for continued development. Through Kickstart, Jennifer has introduced or reintroduced the love of tennis to hundreds of students, many of whom are still active players at FRC today.

Jennifer celebrates her 30th season of teaching at FRC in 2023. In addition to her role as Director of the Kickstart program, Jennifer is the Director of Racquet Sports at Greenbriar Hills Country Club and serves as a member of the Wilson® Advisory Staff.
